Disney Dream was the first ship to boast a roller coaster - the Aqua Duck, a real roller coaster at sea, now also available on ships like Disney Magic. One of our favorite features unique to Disney Dream is a massive “Finding Nemo” mosaic wall in the Cabanas buffet restaurant, hand-crafted by a team of nine Italian artists and containing about 194,500 tiles in 200 colors of hand-crafted Venetian enamel. Details that REALLY Matter: Dining on Board the Disney Dream

Like all Disney cruise ships, on Disney Dream, guests dine at a different restaurant each evening in a practice called "rotational dining". While guests rotate to different restaurants, their servers rotate right along with them, providing a higher level of services personalized to guests wants and needs. 

Enchanted Garden

One of special aspects of Disney cruising is the opportunity to enjoy fine dining featuring flavors from around the world. Enchanted Garden offers a market-style menu of inspired by the gardens of Versailles. How cool is that? 

Animator’s Palate

A Disney Cruise Line classic featuring Pacific Island, Asian, and Californian cuisine, you’ll find different incarnations of the Animator’s Palate on each of Disney’s first four ships. This family favorite upscale spot features screen-based entertainment that gets guests in on the animation fun by engaging them to draw a cartoon character, which is then animated into the evening’s musical spectacular, a major highlight of dining at the Animator’s Palette. On some sailings, guests may also have the fun of joining Sorcerer Mickey on a journey to discover the evolution of animation.

Royal Palace

As the name implies, this upscale restaurant is inspired by several Disney Princesses and the classic films that made them beloved. It features sophisticated French and American fusion cuisine while still offering familiar offerings for the littlest (and pickiest) eaters at your (royal) table.

Palo

Disney schedules each passenger’s dinner time to ensure you’re guaranteed a visit to each restaurant during your time aboard. Guests also have the option to partake of exclusives like an evening at Palo, a chic, sophisticated, adults-only spot offering incredible Northern Italian fare.

And of course there are multiple poolside quick-service venues, pool-side cabanas, and the cruisers favorite, nonstop buffets.

Mickey’s Sail-A-Wave Party is a rite of passage on every Disney cruise. So of course, a Bon Voyage Celebration is a special and ceremonial part of every first day of sailing aboard the Disney Dream, and so are the fireworks. 

Fireworks over the ocean. We were sold before we’d even left port. 

As if an all day party and fireworks over the ocean weren’t enough, the celebration includes a stage show. 

And because entertainment is as synonymous with cruising as buffets, Disney Cruise Line also features several original Broadway-style stage shows, some of which rotate to different ships. Each ship offers three shows per sailing so you have plenty to keep you entertained. At least one show is sure to be is inspired by a classic Disney movie, while another is an original story found only aboard Disney Cruise Line.

Beauty and the Beast. Based on the popular live-action film, this musical stage show is as full of romance and thrills as ever, sweeping you right into the story, heart and soul. 

The Golden Mickey’s. This fun-filled stage musical is presented in the format of an awards show, featuring characters from various Disney films.

Keeping Busy: Fitness, Sports, & Activities Aboard Disney Dream

While just running from one activity to another could put you well over the step goal, Disney Dream offers state-of-the-art fitness centers boasting cool cardio equipment, weight machines, and even classes like weight machines and even classes like aerobics, yoga, Pilates instruction, and more classes*. You can even schedule a session with a personal trainer (additional fees apply.)

Hop on over to the Wide World of Sports Deck to shoot a little open-air basketball or get your  ping-pong on. It wouldn’t be a cruise ship without shuffleboard, and of course, there is a running track. On Disney Dream, this can be found outside on deck 4.

Make a Splash: Hanging Poolside on Disney Dream​

The AquaDuck first debuted on the Disney Dream, and like the launch of the Magic, changed cruising (yet again) forever. This 765-foot waterslide sends guests swooping around the ship - even over the side - in an enclosed, transparent tube on a 2-person raft. Guests must be 42″ tall or taller to ride with a buddy, while single riders must be 54″ or taller. Guests must also be 7 years old or older to ride alone. Kids under 7 (if they are 42″ or taller) must ride with someone at least 14 years old.

All thrilled out? Stop by the family pools: Mickey’s Pool and Donald’s Pool. Mickey’s Pool (which has a yellow slide supported by Mickey’s giant gloved hand) and Donald’s pool (what else would you call two competing pools?) 

In addition to the adults-exclusive Quiet Cove Pool, the Disney Dream is home to Satellite Falls, an adults-exclusive wading pool (see? There is something for everyone.)

Youth Gone Wild: How Disney Cruise Line Makes Cruising Magical for Kids

Naturally the Disney Dream is equipped with oodles of kid-friendly fun. Unlike other cruise lines, Disney doesn’t overlook the littlest members of your party. Children from 6 months to 3 years old (or starting from the age of one year on Transatlantic, Hawai’i and Panama Canal itineraries) can play and nap in the It’s a Small World-themed nursery (get it?) There is an additional charge and advance reservations are required, but it’s a great way for mom and dad to get some time with the older kids, or to just get a chance to explore the ship while little ones get the down time they need.

Pink. Another adults-only bar, this elegant nightspot is designed to look like the inside of a Champagne bottle (how cool is that?)

Skyline. An adults-only cocktail lounge, Skyline is a cosmopolitan sky bar boasting sweeping—and magically transforming—views of some of the world’s most famous cities.

Vista Café. Located midship, guests can enjoy coffee and a pastry in the morning and a pre- or post show cocktail at night.

Waves. Sunny and breezy, this bar is open to guests of all ages.
