Resort Theming
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is inspired by traditional African safari lodges, with architecture and design elements influenced by regions across the African continent. From the moment you step into the soaring lobby at Jambo House, you’re surrounded by carved wood beams, handwoven textiles, authentic African art, and warm earth tones that create a rich and transportive atmosphere.
Floor-to-ceiling windows overlook expansive savannas where giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife roam freely, making nature the true focal point of the resort’s storytelling. The design blends cultural authenticity with immersive detail — from thatched-roof structures and lantern-style lighting to curated artifacts displayed throughout the hallways and public spaces.
Despite its grandeur, the resort feels calm and grounding. The color palette, natural materials, and open-air overlooks create a sense of quiet wonder — like staying at a luxury safari lodge while still being fully immersed in the Disney experience.
Room Types Available
Animal Kingdom Lodge is made up of two distinct buildings: Jambo House and Kidani Village. Together, they create one cohesive resort experience while offering different room types, layouts, and atmospheres.
